Ngengenoef-English Dictionary

Introduction   a   e   f   i   k   m   n   ng   o   p   q   r

Introduction

This is a dictionary of Ngengenoef, a constructed language. ng is treated as a separate letter following n. So for example, konofe precedes kongi.

A number of idiomatic phrases and collocations are listed. For consistency, combinations of verb and object (be it direct, indirect, or postpositional) are always listed with the verb; those of nouns and postpositions with the noun. In these entries, a tilde (~) stands for the head word.

Grammatical specifications

Parts of speech are indicated in italics for each Ngengenoef entry. The following abbreviations are used:

adv adverb
cir circumposition
c conjunction
cl clitic
i interjection
n noun
part particle
pre preposition
post postposition
v verb

Verbs are further specified for their class (v-1 through v-6, or v-irr for irregular verbs), and transitivity:

i intransitive
t transitive

When a word has certain irregular forms, they are noted:

obl oblique
pl plural
Etymologies

Etymologies are given in square brackets. If a source word is given with no language specified, it is from an older form of Ngengenoef.
